Yes we are still here...
Just a quick update to let everyone know we are doing fine. We will be in our training village for another week and a half and then we will head back to Kombo for the remaining of our training. We will have much more to say then when we have more time on the internet but for nowI hope all is well for everyone and we will write more soon.

i'm hoping your silence on the blog means you are having lots of adventures, chattering away in your new language, learning how to clean rice, cook 4 variations of the same thing, ward off the cadeau! toubab ( i know, your language isn't pular, so maybe in the gambia they yell a different word that means white ghost) screaming hordes and not much time on the internet.
still, it's a pretty big chunk, and not everyone who gets as far as you have stays the whole 2 years.
just let us know, we supporters who are wishing you all the best, how things are with you.

Well put Penelope, well put. We just got back from our site visit and we swear in in a week! I've been accumulating blog entries in my notebook and will be posting them all shortly now that we have internet access. Oh and I've tried to contact Katherine several times via text and no luck yet :-(
